XP Home Upgrade Problems

I have just upgraded a laptop running Windows 98 to Windows XP Home. After
re-installing Norton Antivirus 2002 and Norton Firewall 2003 both still have
problems and I am wondering if they are anything to do with Windows system
files affected by the upgrade.

The email protection service in Norton Antivirus no longer works as it
cannot be started. The firewall appears to start but is disabled. It can be
turned on but there is no activity in logs such as Firewall etc. Has anyone
had similar problems upgrading from Windows 98 to XP?

Any help would be appreciated.

If the XP home has SP2 applied, you will have to disable the windows firewall.

Also, get current updates from Norton.
