i receive a gift LG Laptop with XP Home Edition SP2, i want to upgrade it
with Windows XP Professional SP2. Please advice what i need to do ??

Buy a Retail version of Windows XP Professional (Upgrade edition or Full
Retail.)
Upgrade with it.
 
.... except that the full version will install if the OP does not have any
qualifying CD.. quite frequent in the case of OEM installations..
