XP Home/SP1/slow DUP

I have some sort of conflict I cannot identify. Toshiba
Satellite drops to 4-6 kbps DUP speed after I install
SP1. Everything was good for 8 months when speed and
ability to connect dropped rapidly, restore CD restores
connectivity and speed. Install SP1 and DUP performance
goes out window. Testing connection with same line
equipment running to my XP Pro desktop which never had
this issue and flawlessly connects at 40kbps. Ideas?
 
just a guess...you have to raise the RWIN setting again..cause it was not
saved. seems slim chance tho.

rwin setting of 39 000 should do it.

or your other 2 computers are sucking up all the bandwidth (but i imagine
you had those turned off while diagnosing)
