XP Home shuts down

[Blue]

XP Home on its own accord, decides to shut down, total
and complete, with no warning of any kind given. When the
computer is rebooted, no errors, problems of any kind are
revealed. After diligently searching the MS data base for
fixes, patches, or information concerning this problem, I
so far am unable to find anything. Others I know are
having the same problem.
I have run a virus scan, and security check.. shows I am
clean.
Any help and/or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Right click My Computer | Properties | Advanced tab |
Startup and Recovery | Settings button | System failure |
UNCheck: Automatically restart | OK | Apply | OK

Have you had any responses that solved your problem? I
have the same problem with XPHome involuntarily rebooting
at unexpected times. Seems to do so more quickly each
time.

Just want to confirm that we're talking about the same issue here. I've got the one where the system just dies - no reboot. XP Home on a newer system that is otherwise rock solid. Anyone come up with ideas

Hi,..i have this problem w/my computer aswell..i use Win/XP home eddition...and it has NEVER happend untill recently,..for the past 3 days,..everything works properlly. Whatever it is i may be doing online or whatever at anytime my computer just SHUTS DOWN w/out any warning of any sort,..the system just TURNS OFF leaving the monitor on,..so i turn it back on. Its fine once i turn it back on...but then again, whenever it wants..it just SHUTS DOWN again. I dont know whats wrong, but if any of you have a solution or anything,..PLEASE e-mail me @ (e-mail address removed) ! THANX!
