XP Home opening screen always displays Explorer

I know my problem is minor compared to others' here, but it is a
nuisance. Each time I start up Win XP Home, Windows Explorer appears
and always displaying the following folder: c:\Program
Files\Common\bin.

I know what you're thinking... that my start-up folder has explorer in
it. Nope. Just Norton and GoBack.
And I checked msconfig and it's not in there either, unless it's coded
with a different title under "services."
And it's not in any of the "Run" lines in the registry either.

It's Halloween time. Maybe my system is haunted.

Thanks.

There is NO desktop "process" listed anywhere. The first line reads:
"Default Reg_sz (value not set)." Should I put a 0 or a 1 in
there?

No solution yet. I did a search of the registry for the particular
folder that always shows up, and it was not there, so I have to assume
that the reason for this fluke is that it's buried is some data file
somewhere that is called up by a registry line. I know it's not in any
start-up folder.

I have exactly the same problem as you Joe... any progress yet?
