XP Home - Home Network Creation

I have two machines, both with XP Home edition. Cable
internet into Linksys router. Wire from router to 1st
computer (named Home). Second computer is wireless (named
Tommy). Both access internet just fine. I have gone
through the tutorials, and the "automatic" method of
creating a home network. CANNOT create a home network.
I've even had other "gurus" try, with no success. HELP!
Any ideas? Any resouces (other than the help system).

First of all:
- Disable any and all firewalls/virusscanners on all
machines.(You can enable them later when it works)
- Enable file and printer sharing. Make sure it is bound
to one protocol only.
Post back if this doesn't help.

How do I Force both machines to be bound by one protocol?
For all I know they may be, but I don't know how/where to
check for this and/or change this. Thanks for you help
