XP Home edition then full XP Professional

My laptop (A) came with XP Home edition 2002 (HP OEM). I successfully loaded
sp2 on it. I acquired a full copy of XP Professional (?? OEM) that has not
been installed. Can someone confirm that

1) Can I install the Professional over the Home edition without screwing up
everything I have on the laptop (A)?

2) I install the 'old' XP Home edition on a different PC (B), a Windows 2000
PC, the XP Home registration will now be associated with the PC (B), and the
existing applications will still be there?

See my answers to your second posting. You cannot do it they way you hope,
but you have other options.

"Without screwing up" isn't even pertinent. No, you can't do it
at all. OEM versions can't do upgrades, only clean installations.

You can't do that either. The license for OEM versions ties them
permanently to the first computer they are installed on. They can
never be moved to another.
