XP Home Edition- System languages- MUI and LIP

Duncan999-

Hello,

My laptop is set up in English for my benefit and I'd like to have it
simultaneoulsy set up in Thai for my wife.

Msinfo32.exe output at end.

I've succeeded in changing the input language to Thai for her user account
and she is able to use the on screen keyboard to correlate the english KB to
a Thai one. I've also been able to download a language interface pack that
unfortunately has the byproduct of changing the entire system language for
all users to Thai, this is no good for me.

In reviewing the MS KBase articles, it seems mostly clear that I need a
professional version of the OS to get MUI functionality. One article shows
that there's a hot fix requiring base of SP3 named
'WindowsXP-KB942766-v6-x86-ENU' that may offer me hope. I'm trying it as I
write.

Has anyone worked out a clever way to get this functionality using XP home
edition or does anyone know whether an upgrade to XP Professional will
immediately offer this functionality please? Some comments in other forums
imply that a download is required to get this functionality and that MS does
not offer one, due to the licencing arrangements meaning this feature is
mostly offered in corporate environments.

Any help gratefully received, sorry about the length of the post.

Duncan
