XP Home edition not booting up

My daughter has a EMach with XP Home EDition.She turned it
off while in the computer by hitting the off button and
not doing a proper shut down.Now she can't get it to boot
up properly.She said she can't get it to go to safe mode
either....Any Help on this?

Try this press F8 Twice
Choose last know good configuration

Tip-Don't update the S3 graphics from the windows update site. I
had problems with that. If you already did. Roll back-you may need
the drivers. Which should be on disk2 of the emachine restore disk.
