I am having an issue with connecting to this workgroup. Here is the setup
3 computers with the following OSs:
Windows 2000:
XP PRo
XP Home
all have dhcp enabled and have their ip address and dns obtained
automatically.
The windows 2000 machine has the shared folders on it which is "SharedDocs"
and the Windows 2000 and XP Pro machine are using the same workgroup called
"AFLAC"
I have the new dell station with xp home and i configured the workstation to
the same workgroup as the others "AFLAC" but i can't connect to them. When i
go to map a network drive and type in the exact path of the shared docs
folder it says not found and when i go to my network places and windows
network to look at the computers in our workgroup, it finds the AFLAC
workgroup but it does not show any of the machines.
When I go to any of the other 2 workstations with XP Pro or 2000 and i go to
my network places, i can see the new machine that i am trying to network.
How can I get this windows xp home station to recognize the other computers
on the network so i can map a drive on it. Thanks
