Computer running XP home was, until last night working. Attempting to boot
up machine today puts system into a loop, error message saying windows not
shut down correctly & gives safe mode/normal mode/etc. options. Will not
enter any of the modes & reboots to post in a continual cycle. Any ideas
please, anyone ?

After seeing similar threads to this one, I am suspecting something a little
more 'malicious' than just a simple software problem.........

Problem solved. Corrupt MBR, restored from the CD. No idea what caused this,
just happy to have the system back & working :)
