Subject line says it all.
There are 2 user accounts running on this machine, neither having a
password.
I was told I needed a password on the Admin account for this to run, but
that hasn't changed anything.
What could be causing this?

No idea - you haven't actually given much for details.

When you say "won't run" - that could be a variety of things.
- Won't start up at all for you to create backup jobs or restore jobs...
- Won't run when you setup said job(s) and create scheduled task(s)...

- What steps have you done to try and utilize NTBackup? (That is the backup
application that comes with Windows XP (Home or Professional) and what I
assume you are speaking of.)
- What trouble-shooting steps have you done/looked into?

Have you seen this:

How To Use Backup to Back Up Files and Folders on Your Computer

Either way - now that you do see it or even if you have before - where - in
those steps - do things 'go bad'?

IIRC WinXP Home does not have Windows Backup. You'll have to manually
install NTBACKUP (or Windows Backup) from WinXP setup CD.

Ok, what happens is a little different than the video.
I am trying to get it to run every night at 2:00 AM.
I open backup, choose the C drive & system state & point to a folder on an
external USB drive.
I tell it I want it to run weekly, every Monday at 2:00 AM & name it
MondayBackUp.
Here's where it gets different.
After setting the schedule, it will ask for a username & password, PC
Name/Username.
I didn't have a password for the username that comes up, so I set one.
When I enter the password & hit next, I get a message, something like:
Task scheduler, an error has occured while attempting to set task acct info
0x80070005 access is denied
Do not havre permission

The account I'm using is set up as an administrator, so whot could be the
problem?

I found that script that changes the registry to allow tasks to run without
a password & didn't get the error message when setting up the backup jobs.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that it runs as scheduled at 2 in the morning
tomorrow...
