xp home always stalls/freezes

I have just recently installed windows xp home addition, and installed
service pack 2. Thing is, windows keeps stalling or freezing whenever it
wants. no particular place, it's different every time. I could be surfing, or
just working off line. Sometimes it stalls on bootup, or when it sleeps.
Could be at any time. any sugestions? Thanks in advance
 
To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW
