XP home addition vs Professional

Purchased new laptop with XP Home Edition for use at
college. Is there an overwhelming reason to upgrade to XP
Professional version? I do use wireless access
 
Greetings --

Will you be connecting to the college's network? What operating
system requires have they specified? If the school has a domain,
you'll need WinXP Pro.

Home is quite capable, but it will not log on to a large network's domain,
AD etc.

You probably should contact the Network Admin to determine your wireless
needs. If they say Home is OK then stick with it.
