Help!!!

I just installed a new motherboard, because other one was
fried.. I booted the PC with new motherboard and
installed all new drivers for the new motherboard. Now XP
home wants to re-activate windows again. But it does not
like the old key that came with the PC, and was used from
the old motherboard. I called HP told me to do a recovery
on the OS. Anyone have an idea what to do?? Trying to
contact microsoft has been a mess. Thanks!

If you didn't obtain the replacement motherboard from HP, then
it's likely that HP's OEM Recovery method will _not_ work.

So you bought a HP machine with an OEM version of XP preinstalled that was tied
to the old motherboard.
You changed the mobo you lost the license to use that OEM XP.
Buy a retail XP

Did you get your new motherboard as a replacement from HP? If so, their
recovery technique (see manual, probably started by hitting F10 or
similar at boot). If it is not a formal replacement from the maker that
is not going to work; it is essentially a different machine and the
license that came for windows when you bought it will no longer be good
