XP Hm ed w Outlook Exp and XP Ofc Std ed Outlook

When I originally set up my PC with XP Home edition I
used Outlook Express from the bundle since I didn't have
office yet. A while back I got XP Office Standard edition
and I have long since ceased Outlook Express.

Now, despite the fact I have unistalled Outlook Express,
there are problems involving the continued "presence" of
Outlook Express on my machine.

(1) I can not delete the files in
C:\ProgramFiles\OutlookExpress using Windows Explorer
because I get an error message saying the files are in
use. Annoying as all heck by itself, but...

(2) When I try to install a program such as the latest
McAfee SpamKiller it refuses to see (for adress book-
"friends" import and use of features) MS Outlook although
it saw Outlook Express (instead, argh) before I
uninstalled OE. When I try to manually import the adress
book it claims to find it in the file select browse
dialog but then it gives up and says file not found.
Admittedly, this a McAfee problem but maybe it somehow
relates to the remnant OE stuff still sitting on my
machine.

How do I clean OE off my machine totally?

John;
(1) You can't remove OE any more than you can remove IE.
You can remove access to OE or IE, but that's it.

(2) From Tom Koch @ http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/wab.htm

[On WindowsXP, OE user files, including *.wab and *.dbx files, are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden
Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View.]

[Where is my address book stored?
Open the Address Book and click Help| About Address Book to see the path and
file (*.wab) being used. If no path is shown, OE is sharing the Outlook
Contacts folder and is not using a *.wab file. To change this, click Tools|
Options and disable sharing. (Note: Tools| Options only appears if Outlook is
installed in Internet Mail Only (IMO) mode).]
