XP hangs up on desktop

I start my laptop up fine. It loads the desktop quickly. However I cannot
access the internet or some system properties for about 10 min. After this
10min all of a sudden my broadband dialling box appears and then eveything is
fine. Any ideas plz i have tried allsort. thanks simon any emails to

So, pls check thest two points:
1. Try a fixed IP address.
2. Uninstall the IPV6.

Hi tried both of these and still no luck. I also have a lan and another
computer connects to the internet using my laptop just wondering if this
could have anything to do with it thanks simon
