XP GPO's......

Posted this in the XP group too - seems to make more sense
to put it here.

Hello,

Don't know if I have the right group but I'll try.

I'm running a Win2K Server network with AD. I'm beginning
to add XP Pro clients. I have a GPO that applies to my
Win2KPro clients and works very well. I have the article,
KB307900, that states how to update the GPO for XP clients
in a Win2K AD environment. Although I'm logged in as the
Domain Admin on the new client pc and I can drill out to
the GPO I would like to update with the new XP adm file,
when I attempt to add it to my snap-in it errors out with
a network path cannot be found message.

I don't get this; if I can drill out to the GPO, on the
client pc, and I'm accessing it as the
Domain/Enterprise/local Administrator why can't/won't the
pc allow/see it?

Any suggestions? Kind of stinks that XP won't play with
the Win2K GPO's without some gyrations. Will I have to do
this with every XP client I add?

Thanks for any help.

What kind of administrative templates are you try to add? Settings for
windows2000 should apply to windows xp as well.

Nothing specific. Only using the default options that
come with the GPO. I had to go this same procedure with
one other XP box that I deployed; XP wouldn't see the GPO
until I went through the steps in the KB article.
