Posted this in the XP group too - seems to make more sense
to put it here.
Hello,
Don't know if I have the right group but I'll try.
I'm running a Win2K Server network with AD. I'm beginning
to add XP Pro clients. I have a GPO that applies to my
Win2KPro clients and works very well. I have the article,
KB307900, that states how to update the GPO for XP clients
in a Win2K AD environment. Although I'm logged in as the
Domain Admin on the new client pc and I can drill out to
the GPO I would like to update with the new XP adm file,
when I attempt to add it to my snap-in it errors out with
a network path cannot be found message.
I don't get this; if I can drill out to the GPO, on the
client pc, and I'm accessing it as the
Domain/Enterprise/local Administrator why can't/won't the
pc allow/see it?
Any suggestions? Kind of stinks that XP won't play with
the Win2K GPO's without some gyrations. Will I have to do
this with every XP client I add?
Thanks for any help.
