XP fresh install major problems

I have done a fresh installl of xp. My hard disk is is partitioned c & d with
xp on the c partition. The file system is ntfs. When I go in to my computer
drive d isnt showing. Have gone to the prompt and when I enter command cd\d
the drive shows together with all my files and directories.
How do I get windows to recognise the drive. All i've done is reinstall
windows ex. and the set up is exactly how it was before. Have I destroyed the
system or can it be saved. HELP PLEASE

Thanx for reply kelly, No its not listed via windows explorer,would a
reinstall fix do it? Im at a loss,Help
