XP flashes black screen randomly

I've checked the knowledge base and have not found
relevant entries. However, just recently my laptop screen
has been randomly flashing a black screen for a split
second and then goes back to normal. There has been no
rhyme or reason when it occurs. I am running XP Pro on a
Dell Inspiron 2.4Gz. I do check for spyware (spyware
blaster) and recently ran a check, I do have the latest
virus McAfee dat files, and do run Zone Alarm firewall.
Has anyone experienced this with their computer?

Do you have any scripts enabled?

Suggestions:

Check your running processes, scheduled tasks, msconfig, msinfo32, runkeys
and run the edit on line 157:
