Before I downloaded SP2 I could set the Windows firewall to
be on all the time. After SP2 I have to set it every time
I turn on my computer and this involves 5 or 6 mouse clicks
in as many windows. Why can't I set it to have the
firewall be on every time I open the computer?

If you are running a third party antivirus program it will turn off the one
built into Windows. Also Ensure that Automatice Updates is turned.

You don't mean AV program, do you? That' won't disable the fireall.
You mean 3rd party firewall. Not all do, btw.
