XP Firewall

My Service Pack 2 Firewall isn't turning on at boot unless the icon first
pops up in the Task Bar saying it's not on then it'll turn on. If it doesn't
come on I click Control Panel -Windows Firewall which says 'Firewall setting
cannot be displayed because an associate services is not running. Do I want
to start Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Service?' which I do but then I
get a message saying Windows cannot start Windows Firewall/ICS service. What
gives? Thanks for any help. Happy Holidays. Jeff J

Hi

Please run the following command in a command
prompt (Start/Run --> cmd.exe):

sc.exe query SharedAccess

If you get the message "The specified service does not
exist as an installed service." I suggest you uninstall SP2,
and then install it again...
