My primary XP hard drive recently got corrupted and would not boot any more.
I purchased a new hard drive (C:) and reloaded XP. My old drive is now
(D:). When I attempted to transfer my personal files from my old XP drive
to the new one I received "access denied" . I have a lot of files in my
personal folders on the old drive that I want to save. I tried using the
"files and transfer wizard" but the wizard references OLD and NEW computer.
My configuration is a single computer with both drives connected in master /
slave orientation. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

If you have an external USB enclosure youmight try hooking the drive to that
you might be able to salvage files from your old drive(?)
