xp error

when installing error was corrupted drive c:cannot install
this happens after 20 mins of installing
scan disk shows all clear have clean hdrive only win98 and
drivers no other programs cannot find help

i have done a fdisk and reinstalled win98 the only thing i
havent done is reset the bios on my first try i got the
start page with the log ins and i got the errror of
missing files and reinstall thats when i did the fdisk as
i was lost for help i will try the bios and see if it
works thanks
