XP Embedded or CE ?

Hi,

I am trying to understand which OS I should use for an embedded PC
(currently eBox 2300sx) application which requires no UI and MUST run 24x7
completely unattended.

The box needs to support multiple serial ports (ideally via USB as well),
and an ethernet port.

Dev environment is C# .Net 3.5

I am starting to consider XP as I am having some major (and random) problems
using CE - with my CE OS popping up a 'error' dialog box which just stops my
app until an OK button is pressed :-((.

Anyone got any thoughts or advice on this please ??.

I think I might have answered my own question - by calling a distributor
sales team.

At 65 GBP per license this is NOT a route I can afford to go for this
product :-O.
