XP Domain logon SLOW!

What would cause XP Pro to logon on to a domain very
slowly? I mean, applying settings takes approximately
four minutes per logon. Any tips? The user is simply
added to the AD and logs on to a WS. No GPO is applied.

Please help!

This is usually a DNS issue (very common). If I remember correctly,
make sure your DC DNS is your first entry, or at least, what I did and
solved my problem.

The only foreseeable problem is that I'm using DHCP
services provided by a router, not the DC. If I change
the primary DNS to that of the DC, it will kill my
Internet services provided to the WS.

That and the profile size makes for slow AD login. Inherent to AD.

Good Luck
