XP does not see Windows installation

Hi,
Any help greatly appreciated.
I have two installs of XP on my computer (one is there
for backup), but when I load the original CD and select
the upgrade option, it only sees one (the latest)
install. Both installations are in the boot.ini, and I
can select them from the bootloader. Any ideas???

What are the directory names of the two installations? What exactly are you
trying to upgrade?
