I have a usb stick plugged in.
When i plug in another usb hard drive,
xp does not see it and does not autoplay.
When I open win explorer I can not see the hd.
Why?

Hi,
the problem may be that both usb-sticks are using the same drive letter.
If so you just will be able to see the first usb-drive. The same problem
may appear if the drive letter (i.e. F:) is already used by another
device (multicardreader etc.)
You can check that when you open the computer management console. Check
at the "datenträgerverwaltung" (I don't have the correct translation at
hand, may be "fixed drive managment") if your second USB-Stick is listed
and if an drive letter is assigned. If it isn't you can do it manually
by right clicking on it.

Let me now if it works.

Try this, Close all open programs, especially Windows Explorer and my
Computer. Make sure the USB stick is plugged in but not the hard drive.
Right click My computer, left click on Manage, Disk Management. When the
window opens go to the lower right box on the screen and find the USB stick.
Right click on the drive. You should see a line saying Change drive
letter..... Click on that. Choose from the dropdown an unused drive letter.
OK out.

Plug in the new drive and see if is shows as the same letter as the USB
stick used to be. If so the problem is that Windows will sometimes assign a
drive letter to new devices that are already in use.

Let us know if this is the solution to your issue.
