xp display

This is strange because when I go to display
properties/settings i cant select an option higher than
lowest 4 bit and it wont let me slide the resolution to
anything other than 800x600. All the colors on the
desktop are garbled..strange looking sorta. The computer
isnt in safe mode either. any help?
 
Please download and reinstall the latest video card driver for your system.
