xp crash and then goes into resstart loops

hi,
have a copmpaq9010 with xp. the system crashed while loading some new hp
printer software. have a partition c: drive in fat32 and d: in ntfs. when
the system boots it does not go into safe mode- just displays a blue error
message screen and restarts. tried re installing xp on c; drive but now it
does not read any data on the old partition d:. when i check on properties of
d: it says it not formatted. pls tell if there is any way i can retrieve data
from the d: partition.'

I would remove the drive, install it as a slave or on the secondary IDE and
see if the partition is visible. If it is but you still can't read your data,
run data recovery software like GetDataBack.
