XP: computer shuts down but does not turn off.

Since upgrading from Millenium to XP HE, my comptuter shutsdown but does not
automatically turn off as it did with Millenium, can anyone help, thanks
 
go to your device manager and check under computer, it should say ACPI
uniprocesser PC (ACPI is the important bit) if thats not there then there is
a way to reload XP and force it into ACPI but i cany remember it from the
top of ma head .... google ACPI and see what you come up with
