XP clean install RAID no built in floppy

trying to set up XP Pro on a big notebook with an Intel RAID controller and 2
SATA drives.
using f6 to point to drivers in USB floppy drive, and able to format disk.
cannot as a floppy its a notebook.
at this point it wants the diskette again but it will not see the usb disk,
so install cannot proceed past this point.
trying to install slipstreamed SP3.

any input is appreciated. thanks

Google Nlite and slipstream the Intel drivers into your XP installation
media.

I did several builds of slipstream discs with the drivers built in, always
ends in failure.
Even if I remove the slipstream cd, after the system has copied files, and
restart the system
I see
the bios splash
the windows logo with the moving bar
it goes into that sky blue "chkdsk" background
I getting a "setup is being restarted........."
then the screen goes black, and thats it, num lock works, I see hard drive
activity, but its over.

I thougth I'd never have to go to the NT 3+ diskette restart again but....

You can't supply drivers on USB stick during the text mode portion of
the setup routine, the setup program will *only* accept drivers on a
floppy diskette, it will not accept it from any other media source. The
only way around the diskette is to slipstream the drivers to the
installation disk.

Makes sense = it IS XP looking for the data and only at particular places.

Vista & Server 2008 will accept the drivers on USB or CD but up to
Windows XP & Server 2003 a floppy diskette is the only way.
