Will external USB floppy drive work in setup?

Attempting to install RAID drivers with F6 during setup. There's no floppy
drive. If I buy an external USB floppy drive will it work during setup or
am I forced to do a slipstream version of the CD. Thanks.

During the installation...the installed does load USB drivers...so it should
work.

I'd just install an internal floppy drive though...
they cost a lot less than the USB floppies...

It depends if your bios has settings for a USB floppy or not.

In my experience a USB Floppy works on initial call to locate a 3rd
party driver but at a second call to reload the driver it will fail to load.
I have a Sony USB floppy and while handy it just isn't that reliable
for setting up Windows XP.

I'd just slipstream my XP install CD to include the Raid driver. There
are a number of automated tools that can help you embed the driver
and build a disk.

I've used nLite to create embedded XP install disks. The guide for it
is found here:

It's a notebook, so the USB will work.

The USB Floppy drive should work at startup.
