I am installing XP from CD and I would like the last piece of install to
automatically log in (WITHOUT the Welcome to XP) - withou having to ask me
if I want to register or connect to internet, etc...

How do I do this?

Do it right..

Just spent 15 minutes on that site - it did not have the answer to what I
was asking originally. If anyone has better suggestion, please shoot. Thx.

You mustn't have paid attention..
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=70&t=21159
and
http://unattended.msfn.org/global/reference.htm#unattended

Actual Microsoft Reference:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=294801

Other places that reference it:
(using Google.. Going to Customize - better learn to search! :) )

http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBI/TIP4300/rh4322.htm
http://www.mcse.ms/archive65-2004-6-793666.html
Many more..

If I were you I would go through the pages at the original web page I
referred you to and create a proper Windows XP Unattended Installation CD
with the slipstreamed SP2 and perhaps later patches as well.. Maybe even
have it do several other installs for you afterwards. =)

In case you still miss it (although it is in the first link I give in this
response):

In your WinNT.SIF you should (in the Unattended section) put

UnattendSwitch="yes"

It specifies whether setup skips Windows Welcome or Mini-Setup when
preinstalling Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional using the
CD Boot method. Set this to yes to skip the "Setting Up Internet Connection"
and "Create User Accounts" screens.

Thanks Shenan..you are correct, I overlooked that critical key. I kindley
appreciate your assistance. Thx.
