XP can't find LaCie drive

Apparently, XP is supposed to find this USB hard drive automatically, but it
doesn't.
Even Adding New hardware doesn't help as it doesn't show up anywhere.
Help!

When you plug the drive in, does Windows give a balloon notification saying
that new hardware has been found, etc? If not, the drive may be faulty.
With most external hardrives, windows will auto-detect them and utilize the
necessary drivers. You may need to install drives that came with your
device. But if it doesn't show any balloon notifications, it would seem like
the drive is bad.
