XP boots with no taskbar, start button, or icons, only background remain

When I boot up, all my icons are gone, my entire taskbar
is gone and only my background is there. I can run
programs by using CTRL-ALT-DEL and starting a new task but
somthing is wrong. Any help is welcome.

Before doing anything have a look here -there have been several postings
relating to this problem in the past few days . I sorted mine quite simply
