Ever since I installed XP Home Edition on this computer, it boots up with
problems.

It always starts 2 copies of Windows Explorer. I can't find anywhere to
stop this from happening. It must be in the registry.

My Internet Explorer cannot be launched by clicking on a link in my Eudora
email client or my news reader. All it does is go to About:blank. I have
searched for any hijacker that might cause this and came up empty each time.
I suspect it is another registry entry causing this problem too.

If anyone has any ideas how to fix these issues, I'm willing to try just
about anything.

Thanks.

Larry

My problem is that when i turn on the plug to my computer the harddrive
starts up by it self, then the cmos table comes on and i have to enable
surtain things before i can boot up its driving me nuts what am i doing wrong?

Hi Larry,

Launching Windows Explorer at boot usually indicated damaged registry
entries in the run keys. Could you please export and post the contents of
these keys in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

To do this, start/run regedit, expand the branches to each key (do this one
at a time). Click on the key, then on file/export. Give it any name, then
save to the desktop. Once you have saved both keys, close the registry
editor. Right-click one of the saved files on the desktop, choose edit, it
should open in notepad. Click edit/select all/edit/copy. Open a response to
this post and click in the message text area. Hit ctrl+v to paste the
contents. Repeat for the other saved key, then send the post for
examination.

As to problem #2, close Internet Explorer and Outlook Express if either are
open. Click start/run, type "regsvr32 urlmon.dll" (without the quotes) and
click ok. You should get a successful message. Then go to the Control
panel/Internet options/programs tab, click on "reset all web settings".
Reopen and retry the links in Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.

It took me awhile to get back to this. I have done #1 and #2. #2 didn't
seem to make any difference. I still am unable to click on a link from
within Eudora without opening about:blank in my browser. I don't see
anything wrong in my registry either.

Hi,

Any idea what this is?

"BO1HelperStartUp"="C:\\PROGRA~1\\BUTTER~1\\BO1HEL~1.EXE /partner BO1"

Have you tried disabling it?
