XP Bootdisc Reinstall

Upon starting my computer (Compaq Presario 700 Series Laptop) XP will not
start; I receive an error message stating that: (NTLDR is missing). I am
trying to reinstall Windows XP Home Edition via the six Boot Discs. It (the
Computer) is now refusing to read my XP Operating System CD. Upon inserting
the second disc I receive an error message stating: file \NTKRNLMP.EXE could
not be loaded, Error Code 7, setup cannot continue. If anyone can help solve
this problem for me and explain how I can properly reinstall my Windows XP
Home Edition, Please let me know. Thank you all in advance for your help,
time and consideration in this matter. Respectfully yours,

Most XP installation you start with booting the PC from the CD Rom drive.
Every original XP install disk is completely bootable. However, if you need
to boot from floppies, then you have to download them from Microsoft. Try
downloading them again.
