Alright, so i have had this problem for a couple days now, where my computer
is not booting up right, it kept on getting jam. So, Ive search around the
internet, and come to a conclusion that reinstalling the OS is the only
solution. But the problem is I dont have a Windows XP Media Center Edition
CD, and when i bought my Acer notebook it didnt came with one. So i made a
Factory Recovery Disk using Acers Enpowering Technology tool. And i also
notice a Factory Restore option. I just want to double check if i use Factory
Restore, will that solve my Booting problem?

Thanks in advance :)

factory restore will
wipe away the data
and return the machine
to its original state.

this is usually a good
option to fix a screwed
computer.

however, unless you had
taken the step of relocating
your personal files off the
system partition, they will
unfortunately be wiped away
by a factory restore.

also, you probably didn't get
any disks with your computer
because there is likelihood
that you have a hidden partition
containing the install files.

there is usually an f key reserved
that needs to be pressed during
the powering of the computer
in order to initiate the utility and
data inside the hidden partition.
your manual or the homesite for
your computer can provide
more info.

------------------

in any case there are a variety
of reasons why the computer
cannot boot. so your description
of the issue is "v-a-g-u-e".

however, most booting issues
can be easily resolved by using
"any" windows cd in order to
fix the specific area where
the failure is occurring.

what you want to avoid is a
factory restore.

on the otherhand what you
want to do is either a "repair
installation" or run "the recovery
console" with either a borrowed
windows cd or via your onboard
utilities inside your hidden partition.

double check your
homesite.
