Went for a coffee, big mistake, machine rebooted itself and got an error on
an xp pro machine PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA stop 0x00000050 referring to
nv4_disp.dll.

Can no longer restart machine in any of the five modes , not even safe mode.
It just goes araund and reboots itself. I got on the phone to WIN XP tech
support and after I got a case number I waited for 5 hours, nobody came on,
unnaceptable. <GGGGGG>.

I tested and I can only reboot from an installation CD and it will start the
install program but before I go through this I want to be sure on how to do
this without blowing away my installed programs. Would appreciate the exact
sequence or a document that gives me a step thru to fix this.

HELP please.
Thank you.

This fault can occur due to a variety of error conditions, such as bugs
in antivirus software, a corrupted NTFS volume, or faulty hardware
-typically related to defective RAM.
