XP Backup to separate Hard Drive?

J

JC Home

Hi all,

I was just wondering if there is a way to have XP (Home) do a backup of only
the files that have changed. I would like to send it to a separate HDD I
have. Any suggestions?

Thanks!! And Happy Holidays too!

Here are two suggestions: 1) Don't post your real e-mail address in a public
newsgroup unless you like receiving spam; and 2) Don't cross-post to so many
newsgroups unless you like being ignored. Cross-posting in general is
unnecessary, and cross-posting to so many groups is considered rude.

The answers to your questions are found in the Help and Support Center.

What's wrong with using the XP Backup Utility and doing an Incremental,
Differential, Daily, Normal, etc backup as needed?
The XP backup will work fine with another harddrive as the backup
device, although a CD-RW is not traditionally supported, but can be made to
work.

Nothing wrong with the xp one except the cd-rw limitation. I guess I worded
my response wrong. I suggest a third party app, just my preference, that's
all.

Amen to that. No way on earth I would leave backup to Windows.
My personal favorite is Drive Image.
