Hi, I am getting the same error. I read online that vsdatant.sys i
associated with ZoneAlarm and they had problems with XP but should b
fixed with SP2. However, I never installed ZoneAlaram..... Have you?

It seems very hard to get help on this subject.

Hey,
vsdatant.sys is a zonealarm file. That file comes preloaded on Dell
computers, along with other computers. Dell used to come with Zonealarm on
it, but when they discontinued using zonealarm they DID NOT remove the old
versions of the programs and some other programs with SP2 look for that file
and its the old version.
What I had to do is install Zonealarm trial version with the updated
version, copy that file vsdatant.sys to network or cd or floppy, then i
uninstalled zonealarm with all regiestry entries! Be carefule Mcafee and
other virus programs along with uninstalling zone alarm puts old version back
on. When this happens just copy the new version of that file you copied and
overwrite the old one and it fixes the problem. No reboot necessary.

Thanks Austin. that seemed to do the trick. ( I did just get a del
laptop...)

Unfortunately, I dont think Zonealarm installs that great on m
computer and when i uninstall i still get blue screens of death ever
so often STOP: 0x000000FC. There's probably some file or reg settin
from ZA stiill on my computer.

I'm not really a computer expert so if you have anymore pointers to ge
rid of the new blue screen, that'd be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rename The File

I was having this exact same issue.

Computer = Dell
VPN = Cisco
OS = XP Pro

After reading through this forum, I decided to just try and rename the vsdatant.sys file since I also didn't have Zone Alarm installed. I simply renamed it to vsdatant.bak and that seemed to have worked for me.

Hopefully it won't cause other issues down the line, but at least I got VPN working for now!
