XP and Norton AV conflict

I upgraded to XP and now my Norton Anti Virus 2003 and
Norton Internet Security don't work and can't be
uninstalled or reinstalled. Any suggestions?

How to uninstall Norton Antivirus by using the Rnav2003.exe removal utility
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2001092114452606

Use the above utility to remove all traces of a previous version of Norton Antivirus
software. Reboot and reinstall Norton while logged on with administrative privileges.

When I upgraded to XP I uninstalled NAV first then
reinstalled after the upgrade was complete. I think I did
this because the compatibilty report recommended it but
cant exactly remember (someone else may have recommended
it). However, I would always recommend running the
compatibility test and reading the report produced before
upgrading, it could save a lot of grief later
