My new 160GB hard drive is reported as 131GB (131070MB) by
my windows XP (non SP1) disk. Does anyone know what I can
do to solve this? I would like to make the drive
bootable, but I don't mind partitioning it if I have to.

Thanks

One way is to use a modified, i.e., slipstreamed with SP1, version of
the XP installation CD. Another way is to create the maximum partition
size allowed by the XP installation program, install XP, install SP1,
and, finally, use a partition resizer to expand the partition to the
full size of the drive.
