XP and Comcast

I just got off the phone with Comcast, (my high speed internet provider). I
am having some trouble with keeping a consistant speed with my cable modem.
Comcast told me that it could be some security issues with my XP Professional
Version 2002 Serivce Pack 2. They told me to Uninstall Service Pack 2! That
was it. Does anyone know how to correct this problem without having to
uninstall my Service Pack 2??? That is the craziest idea I have heard
yet....please help

Service pack 2 works fine with comcast and I agree it was terrible advice.
You may want to move this to alt.online-service.comcast or better yet, log
into comcast forums and post it in the connections forum.

Be prepared to post your modem signal levels.
