XP and AMD64 3200+

I have recently built a system with the new AMD64 3200+
processor and windows xp pro. version. I tried to install
Norton Systemworks 2003 last night, it did not install
properly. I got error code 12 and error code 5 on my 2
attempts to install. I then found I could not go to
windows update page it would load but explorer window was
blank. I went to account and access in control panel and
the same thing happened there. I resolved the update issue
and accounts access concern with installing new scripting
engine, but Norton will still not load properly. Is there
a compatibility issue with the new processor and xp pro
causing corrupt files? If yes, what is the solution?

Thanks
Steve

Why would you not hunt around on the Symantec web site to see if their
programs are compatible with the 64 bit processor. I would do it for you,
but it is not my problem!

I did check around on their site with not much result. You
took enough time to respond like a jerk sorry to waste
your time.

I just went to the Symantec web site and typed "64 bit processors" in the
search box. There are over 6000 hits for you to read about. Don't be so
lazy!

Once again I have searched for an answer, this was more
than just a Symantec issue if you read my complete post. I
was hoping to find out if the new AMD64 bit was causing
issues like I described in my original post. It only makes
good sense to post the question while searching. Once
again thanks for your answer or lack of an answer because
you would probably give me the wrong answer anyway just to
screw me over. I only came up with 227 hits when I
searched. I also am not lazy I searched till the wee hours
of the morning before ever posting.
