XP - Alternate IP Config

When connecting to my office LAN using XP's Alternate IP Config, it takes an
awful long time to boot. Is there anyway to reduce the boot time?

Hi,

Alternate config will take longer to initiate the TCP/IP stack by design,
it tries DHCP and needs to allow that process to fail before moving to the
alternate static config.
How long does boot take you with Alternate config?

Thanks,
