XP &98 network

Hi all,
yet another networking problem !
I have two PC's networking together, Win xp home (Host) &
win 98 (client). The 2 pc's are wired together via a
netgear 4 port hub......win 98 in front room has just had
to have the HDD reformatted due to kids downloading some
strange stuff!!! I had them both working fine before re-
install, but now I can't access the internet on it, I'm
using Terayon Cable modem hooked into USB, pc's linked
via the hub from both ethernet cards,( I know that it's
not ideal to use usb for the CM, but it has always worked
ok till now) I think the problem is in the basic set up
somewhere. XP nic IP is 192.168.0.1......98 nic IP is
192.168.0.2......subnet mask 255.255.255.0 & workgroup is
HOME. I can ping both pc's both ways, & my internet
connection on the XP machine is working fine, I can also
see the network & share files form XP to 98 & the other
way, my printer works ok from both computers.
Hope there is enough info & that someone can help me
resolve this as it's giving me severe headaches trying to
get it sorted

Two ways to configure the 98 computer as an ICS client:

1. Configure the TCP/IP properties to obtain an IP address
automatically. The ICS host will automatically give it the right
settings.

2. Configure the TCP/IP properties manually:

IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1

Many thanks Steve, one thing extra I had to do was to
specify a DNS Host, have entered the host computers name
as it appears in network neighborhood, rebooted & away we
go. Once again
Thanx

I've been having trouble getting my Win95 back on my XP ICS, but using the
DNS Server setting in this message (which I didn't use before) seems to have
fixed my problem -- thanks!
