You have 32bit most likely - 99.98% Chance. If you have XP Home it is for
sure 32bit. To be sure goto Start>>Run>>Type "winver" if you see 64-bit in
there anywhere u have 64 it it does not say 64 then u have 32.

Very ture, New AMD Athlon 64 3200+ is selling for about $453.00 compared to
Intel 3.2Ghz P4 (32-Bit) for about $616 (Both Prices for Processor's only)

Hey just some info for you guys. The 64bit machines no longer cost alot of
money. You can get an AMD 64bit for $1200. Almost as cheap as a high end
32bit system. I can't wait to upgrade.....

You would know if you had 64-bit, the machine it runs on is not a standard
PC and the price reflects it.

You have 32 bit. If you had 64 bit you would not have to ask the question.

Almost certainly you have the 32-bit edition. Almost anybody who
has to ask the question is running the 32-bit version. The 64-bit
version requires special hardware. It and the hardware have come
down in price, but are still substantially more expensive than
the standard consumer PCs you see around. Very few home users are
using it.
But if you want to check to be sure, enter WINVER at the Start |
Run line.

You have 32bit XP 64bit only runs and Intel's 64-bit processors at the
moment and is only for sales with the 64-bit PC from the manufacture like
HP. They also cost aroung $10,000 too. M$ says it's coming out with a
version to run on the new Athlon 64 processor in the future.

You know because unless you are running a product call Windows XP 64-bit
Edition Version 2003 you are running a 32-bit OS called Windows XP
Professional or Windows XP Home Edition.

If you have to ask, you haven't spent the large amount of cash needed for
either the hardware or special version of Windows to run 64-bit.

Greetings --

If you have to ask, you're almost definitely running the 32-bit
version of WinXP. (I'm not trying to be facetious; I'm sure you'd
have noticed paying several thousand dollars more for the Itanium or
Itanium II CPU required to run the 64-bit version of WinXP Pro.)
There is no 64-bit version of WinXP Home.

To verify for yourself, Click Start > Run, type in "Winver" and
press <Enter>. If the resulting dialog box does not _explicitly_
state that you have "Windows XP 64-Bit Edition," then you have a
32-bit OS.

Those though are AMD 3200+ which will run 32 bit Windows XP *in 32 bit
mode*. There is as yet no XP for the AMD 64 bit mode. The existing 64
bit is for the Intel Itanium 64 bit CPUs, which are a different code
structure

Home only comes in 32 bit, but follow the link provided below for more

.
Windows XP is only a 32 bit operating system.
The new operating system code named "LongHorn" is
coming out in 2004 or 2005.
