XML error Error Log file does not exists.

I am using Excel 2003 SP1.

If i read an xml file containing errors a nice windows entitled "Loading
problem" pops up. The message explains that errors are détailed in a log file
whose pathname is in my case: "C:Documents and Settings\Philippe\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO\9C373E80.log"

.... But this file does not exists...

You can use the following text as an example:

Copy these 4 lines below to a sample file "Sample.xml"

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<?mso-application progid="Excel.Sheet"?>
<Workbook xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:blush:ffice:spreadsheet"
<LastSaved>2003-01-14T13:03:51Z</LastSaved>

Try to read this file with excel. You should get the error message.

Thanks for your help.

Philippe.

Note: "Loading problem" window name may not be the exact English wording for
the french "Problème de chargement")

I finally got the answer. The best way to see Content.MSO file is to copy the
pathname in the browser address field. It's simply magic.

I'm having the same problem, but pasting the path into the browser window
does not seem to have any affect.

I've tried:

C:\Documents and Settings\lanette.l.boren\LocalSettings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.MSO\5BBF4521.log

in my browser window but all I get is a blank page.

I also tried putting file:/// in front of the path and that doesn't work
either. I've searched my entire drive for the Content.MSO folder and can't
find it or the log file that is supposedly being generated. Any
suggestions?

I have made some tests and discover the following:

From the Start menu, press Run... then enter: 'C:\Documents and
Settings\Philippe\Local Settings' (replace Philippe by your user name)
This will launch the explorer. But you won't see your hidden files

If, you enter instead C:\DOCUME~1\Philippe\LOCALS~1' the result is different
and you have access to your hidden Content.MSO file

(I am using Windows XP Pro + SP2)
